Section 15 · Effective 1 September 2026
AI Usage Policy
How AMTA uses artificial intelligence and automated systems.
15.1 Scope of AI Use on the Platform
AMTA may use AI and automated systems for content moderation, feed and marketplace recommendations, fraud and vote-manipulation detection, customer support (such as chat assistance), and translation between English and other languages used on the Platform.
15.2 User Consent for AI Processing
Use of AI for recommendations and moderation is a core part of the Platform and operates on the basis of the user's acceptance of these Terms; where AI processing involves a use of personal data requiring separate consent under the NDPA (for example, certain profiling for marketing), that consent is obtained specifically before processing begins.
15.3 Transparency and Disclosure
Where a decision materially affecting a user — such as removal of content, suspension of an account, or disqualification of votes — is made or substantially assisted by an automated system, AMTA discloses that fact to the affected user and provides a route to human review.
15.4 Limitations and Liability
AI-generated recommendations, moderation decisions, and fraud flags are provided on a best-efforts basis and may occasionally be inaccurate; AMTA is not liable for losses arising solely from an AI system's recommendation, except where the error results from AMTA's negligence.
15.5 User Rights Regarding AI
A user affected by an automated decision may request human review, request an explanation of the general logic involved, and object to purely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, consistent with their NDPA rights.
