Section 4 · Effective 1 September 2026
Community Guidelines
The standard of behaviour expected across feeds, comments, DMs, competition entries and marketplace interactions.
4.1 Respectful Communication
Users must engage with one another courteously, refrain from harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse, and respect differences of opinion, ethnicity, religion, and background, in keeping with AMTA's aim to serve a broad Nigerian and diaspora community.
4.2 Prohibited Content and Behaviour
The following are prohibited: hate speech and incitement to violence; harassment, bullying, or doxxing; nudity or sexually explicit content; misinformation designed to manipulate votes or purchases; fake reviews or fraudulent marketplace listings; vote manipulation such as bot accounts or vote-buying; and impersonation of another person or business.
4.3 Reporting Violations
Users may report posts, messages, listings, competition entries, or accounts that breach these Guidelines through the in-app “Report” tool or by messaging @amta. Reports are reviewed by AMTA's Trust & Safety team, who may request additional information from the reporter. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours and, where it breaches these Guidelines, removed and the account acted upon.
4.4 Enforcement Actions
Violations may result in content removal, warning, temporary restriction of posting, voting, or selling privileges, suspension, or permanent termination of the account, depending on severity and repetition, consistent with the Account Suspension & Termination Policy.
4.5 Appeals and Human Review
A user whose content was removed or whose account was restricted may appeal within thirty (30) days through the in-app support conversation with @amta or by email. Every appeal receives human review, and the outcome is communicated in writing.
