Section 7 · Effective 1 September 2026
Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy
Ownership of AMTA content and user content, with notice-and-takedown and DMCA handling.
7.1 Ownership of Content
AMTA owns all rights in the Platform's software, design, and AMTA-authored content (including help articles and marketing material). Users retain ownership of the content they personally create and post, subject to the licence below.
7.2 User-Generated Content Licence
By posting content to the social feed, a competition entry, or a marketplace listing, a user grants AMTA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on and in connection with the Platform, including for promoting competitions or listings, for as long as the content remains on the Platform.
7.3 Copyright Infringement Claims
A rights holder who believes their copyrighted work has been posted without authorisation may submit a takedown notice to support@amtacitizens.com identifying the work, its location on the Platform, and a statement of good-faith belief that use is unauthorised.
7.4 DMCA Compliance Procedure
Although AMTA operates under Nigerian copyright law, it will also process notices in the format of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for content accessed internationally, including notice-and-takedown and counter-notice procedures, to support cross-border rights enforcement.
7.5 Intellectual Property Disputes
Disputes between users over ownership of posted content, competition entries, or marketplace product designs are, in the first instance, the responsibility of the parties involved; AMTA may remove disputed content pending resolution and will cooperate with a valid court order or the Dispute Resolution Policy.
